I am constantly amazed at how my love for her continues to grow.  I feel like I could burst.  My heart hurts with love for her.  She is so much more than I could have ever imagined, and it’s only been 2 years.  I look forward to many more years of watching her grow.  I love you punky doodle!

M-i-c-k-e-y

I’m sitting here tonight working on some details for Becca’s 2nd birthday and I’m overcome with so many emotions.  I know everyone feels this way, but I can’t figure out where the past two years have gone.  We have enjoyed every second of it – tantrums and all:)  While it makes me a little sad knowing my sweet girl is officially a ‘toddler’, I wouldn’t trade any of it.  Now I know I have a tendency to go overboard when it comes to her parties, but I just want everything to be perfect.

When I first starting the planning process (months ago), I kept tossing around the idea of doing an owl theme or Very Hungry Caterpillar theme.  But as JP reminded me, this is Becca’s party, not mine, so I gave in and decided to go with the Mickey theme.  As many of you know, I’m not into the Disney characters, outside of the t.v. shows or theme parks.  You know the clothes, shoes, etc.  I certainly didn’t want to use it as a party theme because I think it’s kind of cheesy.  (Sorry if that offends anyone – it’s just how I feel.)  But Mickey is her absolute FAVORITE, and I knew that if she could tell me what she wanted (which she can’t) then that is definitely what she would pick.

To keep the cheesiness (is that a word?) out of it, I went to Pinterest for some ideas.  By the way, this website is my new fav!  I have found so many things I want to do/make/visit now that Pinterest is in my life.  But all of that aside, I was amazed at how ‘classy’ a Mickey party can actually be.  I mean as classy as two year old birthday parties get.  I’ve spent months (yes, I’m embarrassed to admit that) scouting out and ‘pinning’ ideas for this party.  I’m so excited at how it is all coming together.  Well, actually just my ideas are coming together – now I’ve just got to start making the stuff!  Thank goodness Spring Break is next week.  I’m sure I will spend most of it on party preparations.  Without giving too many of my ideas away, here is a sneak peek at the basic theme/color scheme of the party:

Becca invite

I was really excited at how cute the invitations turned out.  I even created them myself!

Something else I’m excited about is Becca’s 2 year pictures that we are doing next Monday.  In Charlotte.  Again.  With Jennifer.  You know, MckMama!

We had the opportunity to meet her last year when she took an RV/photography session trip.  You may remember Becca’s pictures.

I really didn’t think I’d have the opportunity to have her photograph Becca again, but much to our my surprise, she planned a spur of the moment trip, and one of her stops happens to be Charlotte – during my Spring Break.  It was meant to be!  We I am so excited to have her do B’s pictures again.  Hopefully this year I’ll get the location right!
