FAM

fam = fact about me

I've constantly got random thoughts floating through my head, so I've decided to share them with you - my loyal blog readers.

Warning: These will be totally random, and they are not likely to increase your IQ or help you win Jeopardy!

So here goes my first fam:

Johnson & Johnson's Lavender baby wash/lotion is perhaps THE best smell on earth!

I told you these things aren't likely to change the world, but now you know just a little bit more about me and that's a good thing, right?

Christmas is...

Christmas is opening presents.

Christmas is eating candy out of our stockings.

Christmas is playing with toys from Santa.

Christmas is happiness!

This Christmas was very special for us. Spending the day with Becca was amazing. It made the day so much more magical.
Christmas morning started by waking Becca up and eating breakfast. GG, Grandmomma, PaPaw, and Uncle Travis came over to watch Becca open her gifts from Santa.

Becca got A LOT of new stuff! Santa left her a V-Tech Alphabet Train, a ball popper, an elephant shape sorter, a Playskool Pop Up Pals, a piano, a See-N-Say, several new outfits, and LOTS of books!
After playing with her new toys, she went through all of her goodies in her stocking. Santa left her good stuff in their too. She got new pacis, paci clips, a new cup,2 raspberry teethers, 3 new bibs, & new hairbows.

And let's not forget the dogs. Even though they have taken a backseat to Becca, we still love them and they are a major part of our family!
Santa didn't forget them either, and they enjoyed digging into their stockings too!

After all of the morning excitement, it was nap time! We had the next few hours to relax and get ready for the family to come over.
Once everyone got to our house, it was total chaos - I mean that in the best way possible!
There was a lot of food, fun, & family, and Becca had a great time!

She got to play with her cousins, Bryson & Blakley. She absolutely adores them.

Dinner was running a little behind schedule, so we took advantage of the extra time and decided to go ahead & open the presents!
It was so much fun, and every bit as crazy as it looked!

After gifts, it was time to eat! We had a delicious meal that consisted of turkey, ham, macaroni, green beans, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, stuffing, and probably some other things I've forgotten about.
Christmas day also happens to be my birthday, so after we ate, we had my birthday cake.
Everyone sang to me, and Becca really enjoyed that part! I think she thought everyone was singing to her! It was too cute:) She definitely made it the best birthday yet!

Check out that cake - my mom had it made, and it was delicous!

Several times throughout the day I looked around and couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with all of the blessings in my life.

Especially this blessing...

who we are thankful for everyday!

and since she went to bed so early, santa already came...

and left her lots of goodies:)

we can't wait to see her sweet face in the morning.
the grandparents are coming over, and we've got the breakfast casserole in the fridge ready to go in the oven.
we want to wish everyone a very merry christmas!

8 months

I know (the few of you) who read my blog get tired of hearing me say that I can't believe how fast time is passing by. It really doesn't seem like my baby is 8 months old. If I think about it for more than a few minutes, I get teary eyed. Ahhh, how will I survive her 1st birthday?

Well, let me not even go there.

Here is our sweet girl! She is so happy, even with an ear infection.

Here are some fun facts about B:

* she still only drinks breast milk - 5 oz. at each feeding
* she eats anything you give her - not that that's shocking!
* she eats three meals a day that consist of the following -
breakfast - a fruit (usually banana) & oatmeal cereal
lunch - a vegetable and a fruit
dinner - two vegetables, a fruit, and cereal
* we still make all of her baby food
* she is STILL the happiest baby in the world
* she STILL sleeps all night, going to bed around 8:00 and waking up around 6:00
* she takes at least two naps a day - she's trying to give up her late afternoon nap
* she's wearing a size 3 diaper
* she weighs 19lbs 11oz (as of today)
* she wears 6-9 month clothes
* she needs 12 months pajamas because she is so long
* rolling is still her preferred mode of transportation
* she is finally getting up on her hands & knees, but not often
* she loves to sit up and stand up (with help) - it wouldn't surprise me if she skips the whole crawling thing:)
* she is much more aware of who is holding her
* her two front teeth (on top) are just starting to poke through
* she has said two words - Jack & Dada
* she smiles ALL of the time
* she got her 1st ear infection and is now taking her 1st antibiotic (amoxicillin)
* she went to her 1st Christmas party at Nat's

Here are few more pictures of our sweet angel:

How cute is this onesie?
Applique is my new thing, and I found a fantastic lady who does great work AND she's cheap!

It's hard to believe that Christmas is only a week away!
Having a baby makes this time of year so much more magical.
We love our sweet girl more and more every day.
We are blessed beyond belief!

How easy is that?

santa baby

I have been looking forward to taking Becca to meet Santa for months:)
It's one of the many reasons Christmas has been more fun this year.

We decided to go on Monday night thinking there wouldn't be much of a wait.
Ha, we couldn't have been more wrong.
Not only was there a line, but it was also 'bring your dog to get their picture taken with Santa night'.
Really? People
a) bring their dogs to the mall
b) pay over $20 to have their picture taken with Santa?

Now don't get me wrong. I LOVE my dogs. They are more like humans than animals, but there are just some things that cross the line, and taking your dog to the mall to get their picture taken with Santa is one of those things steps WAY over the line.

The worst part about it being 'pet night' was the people with pets didn't have to wait in line.

Seriously? They - meaning the employees of the Santa "get up" - thought it was a better idea to have a line of children under the age of 4 wait over an hour then to make people with dogs wait.

Oh well, lesson learned. We'll find out next year what night 'pet night' is, and we will schedule our visit accordingly.

Despite our long wait, Becca was happy....

most of the time.

She also really liked Santa!

Hayes, on the other hand, did not!

fabulous friday freebies

so, this is one of my new favorite websites:)

we could all use free stuff, and right now, Fabulous Friday Freebies is giving something away each day for the next 4 days! And they don't aren't just giving away stuff - they are giving away FANTASTIC stuff:)

Today they are giving away a blog makeover from Pink Armchair Designs!

I know many of you are thinking you could care less because you don't blog, but for those of us who do, this is a dream come true! With a new baby, and diapers, and cute baby clothes that I can't seem to stop buying, paying for a blog makeover is not top on my priority list.
So winning this would be great;)

Be sure to check out both of these sites!
