Special birthdays for special friends...

we all helped them celebrate as their twenties came to an end!
In the past two months, two of my wonderful friends celebrated their 30th birthdays.

Back in January, Courtney celebrated the big milestone of turning 30! Here she is showing off some of her gifts.

In deciding what we could do to embarrass help her remember her past, we decided upon this lovely cake with this wonderful picture.
Note the bangs, braces, & shirt:) - ok maybe that last comment wasn't necessary - how could you miss them?

Even though we shared one of her better pictures with all of her friends, Courtney was a great sport & we all had a great time!

It just so happened that Lindsay turned 30 about a month later, which meant we got to be party planners all over again:)
Here she is posing for the camera (once you see the next picture, you'll understand).

Now we knew how much Courtney LOVED her cake, so we just had to return the favor to Lindsay.
(Notice the pose) This wonderful picture was from her Razzle Dazzle days!

We tried to think of what else we could do to ensure that Lindsay had a fantastic 30th birthday, and that's where the t-shirt idea came into play. Now I know that these look like they were made by professionals, but nope, we did it ourselves with some shirts, an iron, and a couple of old pictures. Lindsay too was a great sport, and I must say, the shirts were a hit:)

To Courtney & Lindsay:
I want to thank you both for being such great friends. You girls are amazing and I couldn't imagine not having you in my life. I feel blessed to know you and I'm glad that I was able to be there to help celebrate this wonderful time in your lives.

WE PASSED INSPECTION!

We can all rest easy now (especially JP) because we passed our inspection. They'll put our permanent stairs in next week and then we'll begin sheetrock! Here is a picture of the house with the siding finished:)

this one's for bobby

So, who can guess what this is a picture of????

Give up???

This is our new insulation. It is icynene spray foam insulation. HBS Foam Insulation , the company we went through, spent two days working in our house, and they did a great job! Thanks Bobby:) We are very excited that this next step of the building process is completed. Here are more pictures of what the house looks like with the insulation.

Now that the insulation is done, we just have to pass inspection tomorrow. Say lots of prayers (this is always a very stressful time for J.P.) If all goes well with the inspection, they will begin hanging sheetrock on Monday. I am very excited to see the walls go up because then it will really start looking like a house on the inside.

Because everybody else is....

So I decided while I was sitting here tonight (with absolutely nothing to do other than clean, do laundry, and about 100 other things) that I would create a blog. I so enjoy looking at all of my friends blogs that I felt this would be a great way for me to keep our family & friends up to date with what's going on in our lives. With that being said, you need to know two things before I get started. 1) we really don't have a whole lot going on other than building our house...which has quickly consumed all of our free time AND 2) I am not a gifted writer like others out there (Heather & Misty). I AM vowing however to TRY & keep this blog up to date (as much as I can) without boring everyone to death, so I hope you enjoy:)
By the way, I've already encountered my first problem. I wanted the pictures to be after the post AND they need to be reversed. Anyways, you get the idea. The first picture was taken about a week ago while they were working on the siding and the second one was taken back in June while they were clearing our land.
