3 months old–3 weeks late

So my baby turned 3 months old on December 6th.  I know I say this all the time, but I can’t believe how fast time goes by.  I feel like I just had him, yet here he is, 3 months old.

I’m not sure of his weight, but I’m guessing around 14 pounds.  He is also extremely long/tall.  Not sure where that comes from.  Ha!  Here are some facts about Walker:

* wears size 2 diapers

* wears 3-6 months clothes

* sleeps all night in his crib – between 10 & 12 hours

* naps a lot during the day still

* is so happy – he smiles all of the time

*  still only breastfeeding

* when he’s not with me, he takes 4 ounce bottles

* I went back to work on Dec. 2nd, so he’s not with me all day anymore.  He stayed with GG and Grandmomma though, so he got lots of loving.

* He talks – A LOT!  Just like sissy!

* Speaking of Sissy, she’s still completely in love with him.  She hugs and kisses him every chance she gets.  He loves her too!

* He’s still a Mama’s boy and I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts!

He’s doing a lot of slobbering and chewing on his fingers, so I think he may be getting ready to cut teeth soon!

Becca the Big Sister

Don’t have a heart attack.  Two blogs in less than 24 hours is a record for me, I know, but I realized how little I’ve posted about Becca since Walker’s been born.  She’s hands down the BEST big sister.  She loves him more than I ever thought possible.  Anytime she’s in the same building as him, she has to kiss him or hug him or talk to him or something.  She never acts jealous (which shocks me) – she absolutely thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread!  I love watching her with him.  She definitely emulates how I speak to him, and it’s quite funny.

Other than the big sister gig, she’s been quite busy herself.  She still goes to Nat’s during the week.  She’s taking tap and ballet class with Mrs. Roddey which she absolutely loves.  She even got to be in the Okra Strut parade and ride on the Dance Dept. float.

Mommy got to be in the parade too because I had to ride on the float with her.

I’m pretty sure she thought she was Miss America – she waved and blew kisses the whole time.  It was humorous.

She did the breast cancer walk at the beginning of October.

and she went hunting with Daddy for the first time.  They didn’t see anything, but she had THE best time.

My mom took a day off of work and we got to have a ‘girls day’ at the zoo.  She had so much fun looking at the animals, riding the pony (3 times), riding the train and carousel, etc.  The highlight was definitely that she got to ride the train by herself!  Big deal people, big deal.

She dressed up as Sleeping Beauty for Halloween (even though she’s never seen the movie).  We had a Fall Festival at our church, and she got to go to Boo at the Zoo and trick or treating with Hayes.

Last week at dance, we got to go in and watch.  It was so sweet.  I was amazed at how focused she was and how well she paid attention.

She is so much fun – sassy, but fun.  I love watching her grow and learn.  She’s so inquisitive about EVERYTHING!  Right now she’s obsessed with learning what your internal organs look like – not sure why, but we do a lot of googling.  She’s also very active in church.  She loves bible class, and we are currently working on her memorizing the books of the new testament.  She’s almost done and then we’ll start working on the old testament.  I still can’t believe she’s 3.  I often wonder where the time has gone.  People are constantly telling me she’ll be graduating high school before I know it, and I totally get it!  I want to hit the pause button.  I want to keep her like this for as long as I can.  I want her to stay the innocent little girl who thinks her mommy and daddy are the best (most of the time).

Walker - 2 months

Yes, I know what you're thinking.  2 months already?  I feel like Walker is growing up even faster than Becca.  Maybe it's because with 2 you don't have as much time to relax.  Whatever it may be, he's here.  He's 2 months old, and we love him to the moon and back.  Here's his current stats (as of his checkup Wednesday):
* weight - 13 lbs 1 oz
* height - 24 inches
* head circumference - 16 inches
* size 2 diapers
* mostly 0-3 clothes, but moving up to 3-6 months because he's so long
* he's still nursing so I'm not sure how much he's drinking - they suggest 3-4 oz, so we'll go with that.
* he sleeps between 7-10 hours at night:)
* he naps most of the day still
* he's home with Mommy - but only for a few more weeks:(
* he is a happy baby unless he has a poopy diaper or gas.
* he smiles and 'talks' when you talk to him - and it is THE sweetest smile
* he loves being in his swing - especially when he sleeps
* he does NOT like to be swaddled, but he does love his sound machine.
* he's growing some hair and eyelashes - finally!
* we just made the transition to the crib - it's going ok.  He slept through the night the first night, but it's gone downhill since then.
* he got his first boo boo when I was pulling something out of the top of his closet, and a wooden sign fell and hit him on the side of his head.  Yes, I felt like Mother-of-the-Year, and yes, I called our friend Lindsay who is a nurse in the pediatric ER, and yes, I called the pediatrician's office at 10:30 at night.  Turns out he was fine - I was just extremely paranoid since it was his head.
* Becca is still completely in love with him.  She talks to him and loves on him ALL.OF.THE.TIME!  Bless his heart - he can't catch a break when she's around:)
* He's a total mama's boy - and I love it!
* I could eat him!

Look at those lashes:)

He was Where's Waldo for Halloween:)

We went to Boo at the Zoo.

We dressed up as some of the men on Duck Dynasty for our church's Trunk or Treat.

Have you ever seen anything this cute???

 Happy, happy, happy!

 talking to ya ya

 blowing bubbles in his sleep

 THE sweetest face

wearing a pair of Uncle Travis' shoes from when he was a baby

 I never get tired of this!

 He sleeps totally opposite of Becca.  She HAD to be swaddled.

 His 1st boo boo.

 At the dr. for his 2 month check up.

NOT a fan of tummy time:(

October was a busy month, but we've had a lot of fun!  It's definitely different having 2 children, but it hasn't slowed us down.  We're enjoying every minute of it with our two blessings from God!

Walker - 1 month

Let me begin by saying that I cannot believe my baby is already a month old (well, he's actually 6 weeks old now, but just go with it).  He has been such a blessing to us.  I can't imagine life without him.  He's a great sleeper, a great eater (surprise, surprise), and a very calm baby.  He just fits right in with us, and we love him to the moon and back.

He is a very healthy baby.  At about 3 weeks, I took him in to the doctor because we thought he had reflux.  He was spitting up large amounts of milk every time he ate.  Dr. G is out on medical leave, so we saw the nurse practitioner (who is wonderful), and come to find out, it's not reflux - he was eating too much.  Because I'm nursing, I don't know how many ounces he's getting.  All I can do is time how long he eats.  The recommendation is they feed 10 minutes on each side (which is what he was doing), but evidently he was getting too much.  We cut back to him feeding five minutes on each side, and that did it.  No more spitting up!
One thing we haven't had to worry about is his weight.  This boy likes to eat, and obviously he's getting enough!  Here are his stats:
Sept. 6th (birthday) - 9 pounds
Sept. 9th (day we left the hospital) - 8 pounds 3 ounces
Sept. 10th (4 days old) - 8 pounds 5 ounces

Sept. 17th (1 1/2 weeks) - 9 pounds 11 ounces (only a week later)
Sept. 30th (3 1/2 weeks) - 11 pounds
Future football player???

Other important things:
2weeks old - lost umbilical cord
4 weeks old - began sleeping through the night!
He sleeps in his swing (Don't judge)
4 weeks - slept in his crib for the 1st time (for a nap)

He loves his sound machine (just like big sissy).  If he's fussy and you turn it on, he'll usually go right to sleep.  We have a portable one that is on his car seat - BEST INVENTION EVER!  He also loves the Woombie (again, just like big sister).
He is a happy baby.  If he cries, something is wrong.  He's got such a good disposition - I pray he stays this way.

Who does he look like?  Uncle Travis and Mommy.

He's got some hair.  A lot of the hair on top of his head has fallen out, but he's got a patch in the back that's pretty thick.
Eyes - still blue.

He likes his paci (or his fingers if he can't find the paci).

He grunts and wiggles CONSTANTLY.  It explains a lot about what I felt while he was inside me:)
Diapers - size 1, but it won't be long before he's in size 2.
Clothes - mostly 0-3 months

Here are some pictures from month 1 of his life:
