Becca the Big Sister

Don’t have a heart attack.  Two blogs in less than 24 hours is a record for me, I know, but I realized how little I’ve posted about Becca since Walker’s been born.  She’s hands down the BEST big sister.  She loves him more than I ever thought possible.  Anytime she’s in the same building as him, she has to kiss him or hug him or talk to him or something.  She never acts jealous (which shocks me) – she absolutely thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread!  I love watching her with him.  She definitely emulates how I speak to him, and it’s quite funny.

Other than the big sister gig, she’s been quite busy herself.  She still goes to Nat’s during the week.  She’s taking tap and ballet class with Mrs. Roddey which she absolutely loves.  She even got to be in the Okra Strut parade and ride on the Dance Dept. float.

Mommy got to be in the parade too because I had to ride on the float with her.

I’m pretty sure she thought she was Miss America – she waved and blew kisses the whole time.  It was humorous.

She did the breast cancer walk at the beginning of October.

and she went hunting with Daddy for the first time.  They didn’t see anything, but she had THE best time.

My mom took a day off of work and we got to have a ‘girls day’ at the zoo.  She had so much fun looking at the animals, riding the pony (3 times), riding the train and carousel, etc.  The highlight was definitely that she got to ride the train by herself!  Big deal people, big deal.

She dressed up as Sleeping Beauty for Halloween (even though she’s never seen the movie).  We had a Fall Festival at our church, and she got to go to Boo at the Zoo and trick or treating with Hayes.

Last week at dance, we got to go in and watch.  It was so sweet.  I was amazed at how focused she was and how well she paid attention.

She is so much fun – sassy, but fun.  I love watching her grow and learn.  She’s so inquisitive about EVERYTHING!  Right now she’s obsessed with learning what your internal organs look like – not sure why, but we do a lot of googling.  She’s also very active in church.  She loves bible class, and we are currently working on her memorizing the books of the new testament.  She’s almost done and then we’ll start working on the old testament.  I still can’t believe she’s 3.  I often wonder where the time has gone.  People are constantly telling me she’ll be graduating high school before I know it, and I totally get it!  I want to hit the pause button.  I want to keep her like this for as long as I can.  I want her to stay the innocent little girl who thinks her mommy and daddy are the best (most of the time).
